The participants in the campaign of “Srilanka – a giving journey” visited one of the poorest districts in Colombo in which families live in quite rough houses without the minimum infrastructure such as electricity, sanitation or clean water.
Actually, the situations in this district are semi-tragic which triggered the sympathy and consolidation feelings with people there.
The campaign’s members visited their houses and offered the psychological support and caused happiness for them as possible. Also, cash and in-kind aids were offered for them as well as children toys and dessert.
We wish we could draw smile on these faces in these few minutes. We will return back to them soon with special projects for building suitable houses for them that keep their dignity.
